My eyes were opened to photography in middle school. We built our own pinhole
cameras and captured images on photographic paper. I loved the idea of being able to capture
a single moment in time. From then on,
I knew photography was going to be my creative outlet.
Through the years, I had wonderful photography teachers to encourage my craft. My high
school teacher taught me the basics as well as many advanced techniques. I learned how
the correct composition of a picture could tell a story. My college teacher taught me
alternative ways to process a photograph to express different emotions.
In college, I also
took classes such as geography, geology, meteorology, geography and oceanography that broadened
and influenced my interest in the earth and eventually dramatically influenced my photography.
Now my creative juices were flowing!
Ten years of photo lab experience allowed me to understand all areas of photography, from exposing
an image to framing the image for display.
I capture images that show what I have learned about the earth that we inhabit. We have the ability
to help or harm Mother Nature. With my photographs I hope to inspire the viewer to take a closer look at
the environment around us. I hope you enjoy the samples of my work. Please feel free to contact me or comment on my images.
